About our Farm
The Swan Family have farmed at Ffrith Farm since 1980, the farm is a traditional hill farm of 200 acres in the most beautiful part of North East Wales.
Cattle
We have approximately 120 beef cattle on our farm, Hereford, Aberdeen Angus, British Blue, Simmental, Charolais, Welsh Black, Limousin, Shorthorn. All grazing on our beautiful farm in North East Wales through the summer and autumn months.
Hens
Our hens are egg laying hens and keep the shop supplied with free range eggs of all sizes.
Pigs
Our pig herd is growing and growing. All our pigs are Pedigree Welsh, we started with two pigs in 2010 and now have over 100. The same as our cattle all the pigs are free range. Some piglets are outside from birth, but in the winter they have a spacious shed to keep them nice and warm. You can see some of the older pigs outside the farm shop roaming in the fields with their huts for shelter.
Crops
Every year we grow arable crops on the farm to feed our livestock. We grow wheat, barley, silage, hay, kale & turnips. Harvesting takes place from June to October and supplies us with all the feed we need for the next 12 months.
Farm Trail
Our Farm trail lets you walk around the circumference of our farm, giving you amazing views, opportunities to see the animals grazing in their fields, the farmers at work, the different types of crops and some incredible wildlife. We do recommend wellies because some spots can be quite muddy. Dogs must be kept on the lead. Maps can be collected from the farm shop which is at the start of the trail.
